MANSFIELD — The USTA Futures of Mansfield tournament field started with 32 players, and the two left to play for the title today at Walnut Creek Country Club are unexpected finalists. Bruges-Davi earned his spot in the championship by beating sixth-seeded Matej Bocko of Slovakia in straight sets 6-2, 7-5 on Saturday. Rodriguez beat Nicholas Monroe of Oklahoma in straight sets in the other semifinal 6-1, 6-4. Bester and Eysseric advanced by beating Rodriguez and Daniel Garza in straight sets 6-3, 6-3. Paul said he is excited to play in the doubles championship and is familiar with Bester, but not Eysseric.
