The girls were among a group of eighth-graders at Bernardo Heights Middle School who participated in a career-exploration program designed to get students thinking about careers and factors to consider when making choices. The program was presented to the Rancho Bernardo students this week by Solutions, a nonprofit career and college information resource center for county students in grades 7 through 12. Other services include matching students with careers and colleges through a computer program that takes students' likes and dislikes into account, and a database of more than 600 careers and 6,700 colleges and vocational schools. Solutions has visited or will visit Mount Carmel High School in Rancho Peñasquitos, Oak Valley Middle School in 4S Ranch, Mission Hills High School in San Marcos and Black Mountain Middle School in Rancho Peñasquitos. read more
